Welcome to Texas Panhandle Centers!

Texas Panhandle Centers Behavioral & Developmental Health (TPC) began on March of 1966 after the City of Amarillo appointed a Board of Trustees. At the time, the name of the organization was Amarillo Community MHMR Center, and served only Potter and Randall Counties. More than five decades later, TPC has grown and expanded to provide quality services to over 10,000 individuals and their families each year in the top 21 counties of the Texas Panhandle with several service centers located throughout the area in Amarillo, Borger, Clarendon, Dumas, Hereford, Pampa and Perryton.

At Texas Panhandle Centers, we serve persons with behavioral health conditions (mental health illness and substance use), intellectual and developmental disabilities, and children with developmental delays from birth to three years of age. Our clients and staff decide together on individual plans of care that can include a wide array of available services such as:

  • Screening, Assessment, and Diagnosis
  • Case Management/Service Coordination
  • Residential Support
  • Veterans Services
  • Crisis Services
  • Nursing
  • Medication
  • And many more!

At the Heart of TPC’s Work Is Our Mission:

To respond to the behavioral and developmental health needs of individuals by creating an accessible system of care that supports individual choice and results in lives of dignity and independence.

This mission serves as our cornerstone as we strive daily to fulfill our vision of Making Lives Better. On behalf of our volunteers, staff and Board of Trustees, welcome to Texas Panhandle Centers!

TPC is part of the Texas Community Center system and are governed by a local Board of Trustees representing the citizens of the upper 21 counties of the Texas Panhandle.
